Hi! My name is Claire, I am the founder and head registered dietitian nutritionist of the 30 something nutritionist. I went to the University of California, Davis and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition and completed my dietetic internship at Tri-County Health Department in Denver, Colorado. I now live in Salt Lake City, Utah with my boyfriend and our rat terrier mix Scout.

I became a dietitian after struggling with diet culture and my relationship with food and my body. As I entered my 20s, I thought part of becoming a woman meant I should start dieting like my Mom had my entire life. But every diet I tried left me cranky, hungry and confused. One blog/article/celebrity saying eat this every day and the next saying the complete opposite. Today, I am here to tell you diets are not a necessary
part of life and neither are silly rules about what we should and shouldn't be eating.

Nutrition should be simple, accessible and enjoyable. I am passionate about busting diet culture food myths to help people regain confidence in their nutrition decisions. Nutrition is so much more than choosing the “right” foods to prevent weight gain or manage a disease. It is part of a very personal experience, an important part of one’s culture and personal identity. As such, I am adamant there is no one size fits all approach to nutrition education, health promotion, or disease management. You can learn more by reading through my blog posts or booking an appointment with me!

What does a dietitian do?

A dietitian is your personal nutrition consultant. We have extensive schooling and training which make us the nutrition science experts. That makes us sound really boring and clinical but I want to assure you our appointments will be far from boring. I like to get to know my clients personally so that we can laugh about shows we watched or vent about things that happened to us this weekend in addition to breaking down nutrition education topics and busting diet myths together.
Some fun facts!
  • I was heavily involved in the performing arts in high school and college (theatre and choir kids unite!). Playing in the handbell choir, performing in the California All-State Honor Choir and working on the musical Godspell were some of my favorites.
  • I was born in France and lived in Canada and Switzerland before moving to Los Angeles with my family at 10 years old. I still speak fluent French and try to visit often to see my extended family.
  • I'm a Leo.
  • My 2 younger brothers and I were all born in different countries.
  • Cookies make me happy ☺️
